Virtuous Woman Day 2

A Virtuous Woman is full of RESPECT!

When we look at the verses in the Bible that describe the Virtuous Woman’s respectfulness, we see that it refers to respecting her husband:

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her,
so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.”
Proverbs 31:11-12

So when the Virtuous Woman respects her husband, she gains the respect and trust from him back.

I feel like this applies to respecting other people as well; when we respect other people, we gain their respect and trust in return.

When we truly care about someone in our life, I truly believe that respecting them shouldn’t be hard to do.

What are some ways to show respect?

  • Listen to them! No, this doesn’t mean do everything that they tell you to do. This means to take the time to stop talking and actually hear out what they have to say! Even if what they say isn’t what you want to hear or doesn’t pertain to anything that you were talking about, it’s important to listen. If you want a person to know you respect him or her, then pay attention to what that person is saying.  Look them in the eye, put down your cell phone, and offer feedback when necessary.  Everyone appreciates the person who willingly listens to them and shows genuine interest in what they have to say.
  • Encourage them! We all face a time in our life when we feel like we can’t make it to the next day, hour, or minute. We should know how far words of encouragement really go, since we’ve received them ourselves from people that care about us. Taking the time to show that you have interest in someone else’s problems and care about their well being goes a long way.
  • Be Grateful!  When someone does something for you or takes the time to respect you, THANK them! Show your appreciation to them by not only saying thank you, but doing for them what they’ve done for you or even more than that.

In my short years on this earth, I’ve learned that respect can get you so far with your relationships! Not only with other people, but with yourself. If you respect yourself, you will be more able to respect other people. You can do these three things that I’ve listed, to yourself and have the same results for YOURSELF!

What are some ways that you show respect to others and yourself?
For the married ladies: to your husband?

Oh (sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me)
A little respect (sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me)
