“She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.”
Today’s virtue: Strength
Women are commonly known as the “weaker” sex. We aren’t known very much for our strength. Though, there are some very strong women as examples for us in the Bible!
Ruth, Esther, Abigail, Deborah… and so many more!
The Virtuous Woman is a woman of STRENGTH! Not only inner strength though; physical strength. That means only one thing, right?
She exercises! She stays healthy!
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time staying motivated to exercise. If you’ve followed my last blog address: Mama’s Cornerr, then you’ve seen my 15 day Mommy Fit Challenge! It was a challenge that I took to lose some baby weight. Well, it worked! As long as I held myself accountable and had a group to do it with… I got it done!
I lost 15lbs! And created the habit to continue to eat healthy with my family and I’ve just recently lost 5 more pounds! I was at 155lbs and I’m now at 140lbs.
I struggled so much with staying motivated and something just as simple as joining a 15day challenge in a group on Facebook helped motivate me and created a good habit to be healthy!
Sometimes that’s all it takes!
I still have room to improve on my health, but I am nowhere near as unhealthy as I was before! Following a trainer really helps! I know so many trainers, if you’re interested and need some motivation!
But exercising and eating good isn’t the only way to have strength. There’s mental and emotional strength as well.
When we have things that happen to us in our life and we get through them, that builds our strength. When we let GOD be our strength, we can get through ANYTHING!
I meditated on this verse during some of the WORST and TRYING times in my life:
“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
I feel like the Virtuous Woman HAD to do BELIEVE in what this verse says in order to gain her complete strength. In order to do what she needed to do to be the Virtuous Woman!
So I’ve written about two methods to have strength:
1. Exercise and eat right.
2. Let God be your strength.
What are some ways that you stay healthy, physically and mentally?
Do you have any tips for someone that struggles with staying motivated to be healthy?
Do you have any verses that you use to meditate on to remember God’s strength?
